Its always a good idea to get feedback from your customers. If you don't listen to what your customers want, you will eventually have to close down your business. I have not used UserVoice yet, but it certainly seems like a good idea.

Thanks for sharing.

My test implementation of UserVoice is at feedback.designdelineations.com please stop by to check out how it works.

I also added the blog widget to this blog (check out the right hand column) and the feedback tab to my company web site.

The 37Signals blog has a great post that applies this video more directly to web development.

Also, Robert Blewett plans to use this video for a senior honors seminar at SLU. See his post here. Sorry Bob, I don't even remember where I first saw the YouTube video ... not very scholarly of me!

Trey, that's a good point. Using text only is simpler though. Of course good email broadcasting services help you create both versions of the email (text/html). Does anyone know if including both versions makes a message more likely to be marked as spam or not be deliverable for some other reason?

I personally like Vertical Response for its pricing, monitoring tools, and flexibility though there are very many good choices for email broadcasting. In addition, e-commerce tools like Zen Cart have built in email broadcasting tools that will do the job though they're a bit more limited. The benefit of having them integrated into your customer database may outweigh the limitations of their monitoring tools.

Great Advice. What do you recommend for a mailing program if you want extensive personalization of your outgoing mails? I use windows at home and PHP on the server.
